CHS in Beijing

On Zibin’s second day in Beijing, I bumped into this very familiar face in Yigongyishan, a club for rock music bands. From afar, I was looking at him, and was wondering if that was really Zibin, a friend that I haven’t seen for 10 years after high school. I was thinking it would be too small a world to meet someone from the same high school in the same city away from home 10 years after graduation and still look the same.

I went up to speak to him to make sure, and wallahhhh it was Zibin.

Then found out that Aikseng was in town as well, married and with a kid, and doing very well here in Beijing. We had dinner about a month ago.

Then found out Saichow, a senior from CHS, was telling Zibin that he keeps seeing this familiar face (me) at Xiu everytime he goes there. But wasn’t sure if it was me. Apparently I go there too much, according to him, I won’t deny, it’s just across the street.

So finally we decided, that there are too many CHS people in Beijing to not meet up. So we did last Friday and had a blast! Started off with dinner at Malacca Legend and continued on to Spark.

Of course it wasn’t a fully CHS affair. For dinner we had Lynn, Jane, Clarice, Elena, Claire, Robin join us as well in addition to the CHS-ians which included Ting Nan, Favian, and Chet Terng. Was great to meet everyone again and have some familiar Malaysian food.

At Spark, as regular as it seems, we met more Singaporeans (friends’ of Saichow and Elena) there. Oh boy did it get rowdy with the amount of alcohol that was consumed that night. Didn’t remember much of what happened that evening, not sure if anyone did. But have to say, I did have a good time!
