Crazy China

I frequent Sanlitun at Beijing a lot, since the gym I go to is nearby and also, it basically has everything everyone needs. Well, honestly it’s just a place that a lot of foreigners go to, so most of my friends hang here as well.

I was here last weekend again, took the bus here and there’s this crazy SAnlitun intersection, they should just remove the stop lights since no one cares about it anyway. You’d think that police would be law abiding, but no, check out the picture below:

Amidst all the traffic, he’s trying to take his date out to a bar at Sanlitun, so he forces his way through, even though he knows he can’t get through. Dumbshit.

Was at the driving range Sunday morning. Spotted this sign:

I looked around me for any hills, seeing if there was a possibility that a landslide would happen. It was all flat around, then I tried to read the chinese words. It meant, “watch out for the slippery floor”.

I guess they meant, if you run on the wet floor you might fall like there’s a landslide.

Huiwen trip to Beijing April 2011 + White glasses

Huiwen was here in Beijing last weekend. It was a really spontaeneous trip as we planned this just less than 2 weeks before she came. It was great as the last time I saw her was during CNY at my place in KL. So it has been a good month and a half that I haven’t seen her, plus she got a pretty good deal on the flight. Although that meant stopping over at HK for a couple of hours, stop overs just make the trip WAY more tiring. I appreciate it anyhow.

Her first stop:

Singapore!

hahaha…we saw this merlion and thought, hhmm why not just take a picture with it and tweet it and say, and yes, i’m back in Singapore already. haha. Well we saw this after having a good 2-3 hour chat at the starbucks just around the corner, catching up about work, life, people that we know, gossip, and all that good shit. I’ve never spent that long chatting before and not try to get out of it!

There’s this place that I eat quite often, it’s a small little shop that sells very traditional Chinese light food and the shop is as wide as probable 2 meters. Yep. Narrow little shop with 3 tables in it.

Here Huiwen’s having our lamb soup with glass noodies. We were ambitious and hungry so we added mixian into it. Good stuff:

The bowl looks small, so of course I had an additional roujiamo to go with it. hehe.

Beijing is of course not complete without the nightlife. This is a picture we took at d-lounge. I would say, a slightly cheaper version of Xiu, with equaly as many beautiful people, maybe just not so famous, and drinks priced at 80% of Xiu. We both decided to be healthy so we had red wine and that’s why our lips were kinda black.

We also went to Chaoyang park. One of hte biggest in-city park in Beijing. It was huge. We went there 2 days in a row but one of the days was just sitting BY the park, outdoors, with the sun shining, enjoying coffee with Tiger.

This dog caught Huiwen’s eye:

It didn’t like Huiwen very much so it started growling so she ran away and we took an alone shot of the dog itself.

I think the dog was mighty ugly. Probably looked better on the dining table. nyehgehehe

Prior to Huiwen coming, we had a friend invite us to a mexican themed party at his place. He catered mexican food and decorated his place with mexican colors. Only thing he dind’t have was mexican music so we were doing the normal hip hop stuff dressed in mexican.

Of course, we coudln’t go without dressing up in mexican as well. At first, Montse was asking me to get the Lucho Libre mask that Nacho libre wore in the movie, as the mexican wrestler. I thoguht i’d be cool so i Looked on taobao.com to try to find the mask but it was at about 100 kuai for the mask. It’d be pretty damn badass as well if I wore it. But then if I wore that what would Huiwen wear? So I was thinking something a little more low – key. I looked up mexican jerseys and found this local Mexican team’s football jersey that looked pretty good. It was the Unam Pumas home jersey. Got 2 of them the same size – I was going to be naughtier and ask Huiwen to wear it without any pants on. That would have been super sexy. But then again, it was cold so she put some tights on.

We bought the NN office football as an accessorie – which we forgot to bring back from Jason’s. Sucks.

Montse went all out in her Sombre and and poncho? I don’t even know what you call it but she later wore that out to Vics.

Oh, i’ts funny we actually clicked at the same time, hehe:

Last weekend, was out at d-lounge again with some friends. I had my white shades since I didn’t go home since the morning. Of course, it was a hit.
